Linda Alela

Linda Alela is a news anchor and reporter at TV47. She has previously worked with other news outlets, including Ebru TV and GBS TV Africa.

She has been vocal in championing gender equality and opportunities for young people, using her platform to campaign against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases.

By utilising her role as a media personality, she has immensely shaped how the media covers gender issues, ensuring they are not just sensationalised but reported in a way that raises awareness and pushes for change.

Through one of her pieces, 'The role of media in fighting against gender-based violence', she reflects on harmful practices like the Female Genital Mutilation, noting that the vice persists even in modern homes, emphasising the need for better media-driven advocacy.

In 2025, she won the National Cohesion Developing Story Reporting Award at the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA).

The award recognised her feature titled “Quest for Lasting Peace in Kapedo”, which highlights her work on peace and cohesion.
